My name is Jim Rinaldi. I am President and the Founder of Star Painting...and we do something unique in the painting business in that we eliminate many of the problems businesses and homeowners traditionally have when trying to hire, evaluate and work with a painter. We have been serving area businesses and homeowners for over 25 years. In that time we have asked thousands of customers what is most important to them. Here is what we found out.
Ask these four questions to make sure your painting company's policies, procedures & standards will protect you from an unpleasant painting experience:
We spend extra time to detail your bid so you know what is covered...you won't end up with a surprise in the middle or end of the job. Our bid is complete. Make sure the painter puts it in writing that they won't charge you more after they start just because they didn't do a thorough job of estimating up front.
Less than 20% of painters show up when promised because they don't have enough help. How many times have you called a painter for a quote and they never even returned the call? I have two experienced assistants dedicated to scheduling, answering questions and resolving problems. We guarantee to return your call.
Overbooking is common in our industry. Lots of painters show up the first day, leave the place a mess and then you don't see them for weeks. We have four fully trained crews and over 20 painters available. Our size allows us to schedule efficiently and we are on your job every day until it is finished.
Effective December 2005, the State of New Jersey requires all painting contractors serving the residential and non-commercial market to register with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. Star Painting has been registered since January of 2005. The full text of the requirements can be viewed here. It is a fourth degree felony for a contractor to perform residential work and not be licensed.
Star Painting, Inc. license number is 13VH00317500.
However, low prices usually mean the contractor has cut some corners on quality. Make sure the contractor you hire complies with our Consumer Guide to Questions You Should Ask Before Hiring a Painting Contractor.
Do they have a written 17-step house painting process? Ask every painter for their written procedure then compare it with ours. Every step they leave out means they are lowering quality so they can lower your price.
Hi Jim and Phil:
I love how our house looks with new fresh paint! Your crew did a great job, they were so polite and neat, we hardly knew they were here!! It will be my pleasure to recommend your company!
Thanks again for the wonderful job!
